Job summary

United Community Center in Milwaukee seeks a Special Education Teacher Assistant to support students with disabilities under the guidance of the special education team. You will help implement IEPs and provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to promote student participation and independence.

Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and service providers, ensuring safety and positive learning environments.

Qualifications

• Special Education aide license or eligibility required.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• For K4/K5 staff: CDA credential or be enrolled in a qualifying program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing daily lesson plans and IEP goals.
• Support students with disabilities with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and service providers to promote student progress.
• Maintain accurate attendance and records as required by IEPs and school policy.

Skills

Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Education

Wisconsin Special Education aide license (required or ability to obtain)

CDA credential or program for K4/K5 staff
