Job summary

The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) is seeking a dedicated Special Education Assistant to support students with disabilities across 4K‑21, under supervision of licensed staff. You will assist with implementing individualized education plans, provide adaptive materials, and help maintain a positive learning environment across classrooms and community sites.

Candidates should have an Associate’s Degree or 48 college credits, and may need a Wisconsin Special Education Program Aide

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 48 college credits required.
• Wisconsin DPI Special Education Program Aide License (1015) or ability to obtain.
• Successful completion of an onsite assessment may be required.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Support & Academic Assistance.
• On-site job coaching at community work-sites for 18–21 transition students.
• Behavioral Support and Positive Behavior Interventions for student safety.
• Data Collection & Documentation to track progress and outcomes.
• Maintain FERPA/HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
