Job summary

The United Community Center in Milwaukee is hiring a Special Education Teacher Assistant to support students with disabilities and collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs). This role is focused on enhancing student independence and participation in classroom activities.

Ideal candidates should have experience working in educational settings with children with disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting in lesson planning, attending meetings, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a Special Education aide license from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
• At least one year of experience with individuals with disabilities in an educational setting.
• Must have effective multitasking and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students with disabilities in achieving goals outlined in their IEP.
• Implement daily lesson plans addressing children’s needs and interests.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and provide updates on student progress.
