Job summary

Central High School in Harrison, TN seeks a paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the direction of a licensed special education teacher. The role includes assisting with IEPs, preparing instructional materials, and monitoring progress in general or special education settings.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, basic tech skills, and the ability to work with diverse learners.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; basic technology skills required.
General office/clerical experience or equivalent education and training.
Knowledge to support PreK-12 general curriculum; ability to follow IEPs.
Must meet one of: 48 sem. hours/72 quarter hours, an Associate’s degree or higher, or PRAXIS Parapro.

Responsibilities

Provide educational assistance to students with disabilities; modify and utilize instructional materials.
Assist in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Assist with data collection and progress monitoring of student development.
Follow procedures to ensure student safety; respond to behavior per policy.
Perform clerical tasks and support teaching activities as needed.
Chaperone field trips during the regular school day.
