Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of PreK-12 general curriculum support.
• 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours or an Associate’s degree or higher or PRAXIS Parapro.
• One year of experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to learn and implement a variety of teaching strategies.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to be trained in nonviolent crisis intervention techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational assistance to students with disabilities; assist with IEP development and data collection.
• Assist with instructional materials, classroom activities, and assistive technology.
• Provide physical support and supervision; monitor student safety.
• Chaperone field trips and attend meetings as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow Tennessee Teacher Code of Ethics.
• Perform clerical tasks supporting teaching activities.
