Lakewood Elementary School in Tomball, Texas seeks a Special Education Aide for the Structured Learning Lab (SLL) for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports a certified teacher in delivering individualized student instruction and behavior support within a special education setting.

The aide assists with self-help, instructional programs, and classroom activities, under supervised guidance, with duties including safety and student assistance as needed. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 48 college hours or meeting formal academic assessment requirements.
• Texas Educational Aide certificate recommended by the district upon hire.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities including autism.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of general office equipment.
• Basic first aid knowledge and CPR.
• Prior experience working with children.

Responsabilités

• Help special education teacher provide for physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in a special education setting.
• Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs.
• Work under general supervision of principal and immediate direction of certified teacher.
