Job summary

Granbury ISD seeks a Special Education Aide (Structured Learning) to support a certified teacher in a special education setting. You will help with physical and instructional needs, assist in implementing classroom programs, and supervise students throughout the day, including lunchroom and play areas.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and two years’ experience with children. Training and staff development opportunities are offered within the district.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to use physical restraint.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
• Knowledge of general office equipment.
• Two years of experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and policy.
• Assist students with physical disabilities, including transfers and positioning.
• Assist students with physical needs and personal care.
• Assist in managing behavior and crisis intervention as needed.
• Learn and adapt to each student’s medical, physical, and emotional needs.
• Work with students or small groups to develop motor skills and conduct exercises.
• Supervise students during the school day in various settings.
