Job summary

Amergis is seeking a School Aide to support students requiring instructional and behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department. The role involves collaboration with teachers and supervising designees within a school setting.

Additional duties may include assisting with personal mobility and therapeutic care needs as directed by health professionals, within a supportive educational environment. This is a contract full-time position in the Rio Rancho, NM area.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• The School Aide works with students requiring instructional and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee.
• The School Aide may provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.

Education
