Job summary

Amergis is hiring a School Aide to support students needing instructional or behavioral help under the supervision of the special education team. This role will assist with personal mobility and therapeutic care needs as directed by health professionals and school staff.

The position is part-time and contract-based, focused in schools in the Rochester, WA area. Applicants must meet state requirements, have a high school diploma, and be at least 18 years old.

• Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Job description

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.
