Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Paraprofessional Aide certification from the state of Texas.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities and follow instructions.
• Good communication skills and familiarity with office equipment.
• Ability to physically manage students with motor/behavioral needs.
• Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention and/or Safety Care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher in delivering instructional programs.
• Support self-help, behavior management and instructional activities.
• Maintain and audit student records and materials.
• Assist with supervision inside and outside the classroom and during activities.
• Help implement therapy programs requiring lifting/positioning.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in required trainings.
