Katy Independent School District is seeking a dedicated Aide - Special Education for the RISE program at Mayde Creek High in Houston, TX. This full-time role supports instructional and behavioral needs of students with disabilities under the direction of the Principal.

The position requires Title I campus qualifications or related certification, proficiency in clerical tasks, and the ability to handle confidential student records.

Qualifications

• College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test.
• College hours 15 or high school diploma or GED (with a passing score of 464 on the ParaPro test) for Non-Title I campus.
• Communicate and work with students with disabilities
• Maintain effective working relationships
• Minimum clerical skills
• Good physical and emotional condition
• Work with confidential material and student records
• Paraprofessional Educational Aide II certificate required once employed

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing all elements of RISE program
• Assist in maintaining accurate records of students in RISE program.
• Assist in implementing behavior management strategies.
• Assist in maintaining student records and charts for determining student progress.
• Assist in providing re-orientation and instruction to students in RISE classroom.
• Assist in monitoring student behaviors.
• Obtain and maintain certification in the CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
• Other SHARS Duties as assigned.
• Provide Personal Care as identified in applicable student IEPs.
