Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
• Experience: Experience in a Special Education classroom with significant disabilities (strongly preferred)
• Licenses: Valid Texas state Special Education certification; core certs or Texas Core Content worksheets (required)

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet students’ needs
• Develop IEPs for a caseload of students
• Implement IEPs, assess progress, and track outcomes
• Update IEPs to reflect progress and goals
• Assess students’ skills to plan teaching
• Collect and analyze student data to maximize achievement
• Communicate progress with students and families weekly
• Establish cooperative relationships with students and families
• Host tutoring sessions as needed
