School City of Hammond is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional Aide to support teachers in classrooms by working with individual students or small groups to reinforce skills.

The role requires a high school diploma, with preference for an associate degree or 60 college credits, or passing the Indiana Praxis test. Applicants should be dependable and able to collaborate with diverse learners while maintaining confidentiality.

Formación

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree or 60 college credits, or pass the Indiana Praxis test to meet qualification standards.
• Experience working with students, especially in Special Education settings, preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
• Assist the teacher in reinforcing skills based on each student’s needs, interests and abilities.
• Help students master equipment or instructional materials and support ongoing skill development.
• Guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial work assigned by the teacher.
• Assist with student supervision and participate in in-service training when needed.
• Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality of student information.
