Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to assist teachers with instructional clerical tasks and student management for special education students in both special education and general classrooms.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, with preference for candidates who have two years of college, ParaPro, CDA credentials, or experience with children. The position follows the school-year schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Prefer candidate with previous experience working with students with special needs.
• Must have strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Must be able to supervise students in community settings and relate well with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional clerical tasks and student management.
• Support daily life activities for special education students in both special education and general classrooms.
• Complete tasks independently and participate in training provided by the Special Education Department.
