Job summary

South St. Paul Public Schools in Kaposia Elementary seeks a Special Education Assistant to provide direct support to students with disabilities.

You will assist with daily living activities, support instruction, and help implement IEPs and BIPs to foster a safe, structured learning environment. Collaborating with teachers and families, you will monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in required trainings.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with disabilities.
• Ability to follow IEPs and BIPs with fidelity.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy of student information.
• Ability to document data and communicate progress clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist students during arrival, dismissal, and transportation as needed by IEPs.
• Support daily living skills and behavior interventions per plans.
• Deliver instructional support and accommodations under staff direction.
• Provide program support in SUN, EBD, and similar settings.
• Maintain records, collect data, and document progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and families to coordinate services.
• Attend required trainings and follow district procedures.
