Job summary

Aberdeen School District is seeking a paraeducator to support teachers and students in a dynamic classroom environment. You will assist with daily activities, supervise recess and meals, prepare materials, and help maintain records and a safe learning space.

Responsibilities include monitoring student progress, supporting assessments, and collaborating with staff. Prioritize confidentiality and adapt to a busy school setting with consistent hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and one of the following: AA degree, OR 72 college-level quarter credits, OR state approved paraeducator assessment test.
• Proficient in basic spelling, math and grammar skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors student progress and shares observations with teachers and parents/guardians.
• Assist teacher in daily management, organization, and safety of children during school activities.
• Prepare instructional and non-instructional materials; assemble worksheets and resources.
• Supervise students in classroom, during recess, lunch, field trips, and arrivals/departures.
• Maintain student records, attendance, and class lists; assist with assessments.
• Provide basic first aid care and assist with health-related student needs.
• Assist with tests administration and data entry for teacher.
• Support volunteers and student assistants and maintain classroom appearance.
