Job summary

Aberdeen School District is seeking substitutes to support classrooms and staff on an on-call, as-needed basis. Duties include assisting teachers, supervising in common areas, and promoting positive public relations for the district.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with an AA degree or 72 college credits preferred, and the ability to pass a background check. Bilingual/Spanish speaking is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AA degree, or 72 college credits, or pass the ETS ParaPro Assessment.
• Ability to pass a WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance (applicant's expense).
• Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the teacher in the classroom as directed; may include hallway, lunchroom and playground supervision.
• Ability to relate and work with children.
• Work cooperatively with building staff, students, and parents/guardians.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to use a computer and apply technology skills.
• Ability to follow directions, and perform duties and tasks as assigned.
• May be required to assist with toileting and diapering.
• Ability to lift and support students.
• Ability to organize time and maintain a schedule.
• Comply with all district policies, building procedures and schedules.
• Possess a positive attitude that each student can learn and has the right and capacity to achieve personal academic excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by building administrator.
