Job summary

A Texas school district is seeking a Special Education Teacher Assistant to help meet the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities. You'll assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP) and support students throughout the school day, including lunch and recess. Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a Texas educational aide certificate, and the ability to work effectively with children with disabilities. This role includes both classroom and outdoor activities.

Qualifications

• Two years experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Help meet the individual needs of students, including personal care.
• Manage behavior of assigned students, including crisis intervention.
• Assist in developing motor skills and conducting instructional exercises.

Skills

Ability to work with children with disabilities

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to communicate effectively

Education

High school diploma or GED certificate

Associate’s degree or two years of study at an institution of higher learning

Valid Texas educational aide certificate
