Job summary

Mason City Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Aide to support students at Mason High School in Mason, Ohio. This on-site role involves assisting the intervention specialist, providing one-on-one or small-group support, and aiding with classroom tasks and documentation.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a background check, and a commitment to student safety and well-being. Candidates should be prepared to perform light clerical duties and assist with medical needs

Qualifications

Assists students with recitation and reading.
Supports intervention activities under supervision.
Performs basic clerical duties as needed.

Responsibilities

Supports the student(s) in recitation, reading, and other curriculum tasks.
Under supervision of the intervention specialist teacher, works one on one or with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
Performs clerical duties such as running copies, putting up bulletin board, preparing materials, etc.
Implements teacher-directed interventions to support pupil performance objectives.
Assists students where necessary in accomplishing self-help skills and gradually decrease support as appropriate.
Assists in documentation of pupil performance.
Assist in toileting needs, including diapering.
Will work with student(s) who has medical needs which could include tube feedings, insulin testing, etc.
