Position: Special Education Aide

Location: Mason Elementary School

Performance Responsibilities

• Supports the student(s) in recitation, reading, and other curriculum tasks, guiding and helping, but not teaching.
• Under supervision of the intervention specialist teacher, works one on one or with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
• Performs clerical duties such as running copies, putting up bulletin board, preparing materials, etc.
• Implements teacher‑directed interventions to support pupil performance objectives.
• Assists students where necessary in accomplishing self‑help skills and gradually decreases support as appropriate.
• Assists in documentation of pupil performance.
• Assists in toileting needs, including diapering.
• Will work with students who have medical needs which could include tube feedings, insulin testing, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to pass a BCI&I and FBI criminal background check.
