Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree or two years of college preferred or TEA assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with instructional materials, records, and learning environments.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Guide independent study and remediation as assigned by the teacher.
• Help manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct.
• Assist with large group activities like reading aloud and drills.
• Assist in therapy programs developed by support staff.
• Correct papers and supervise testing and makeup work.
• Supervise students throughout the day, inside and outside the classroom.
• Provide interventions for at-risk students.
• Keep the teacher informed of student needs and problems.
• Assist substitutes when regular teacher is absent.
• Help implement lesson plans as needed.
• Implement IEP-aligned instructional strategies to support goals.
• Collect and record data on student progress.
• Maintain FERPA confidentiality and district policies.
• Perform clerical duties and maintain records.
• Maintain emotional control and punctuality.
• Participate in staff development and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
