Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred 2 years experience with children as a Teacher Assistant or equivalent; including 1 year with SLA-district bilingual students.
• Clerical skills appropriate to duties of position.
• Valid community First Aid and CPR card (or acquire within 6 months of hire).
• Bilingual applicants must demonstrate proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Training to meet accreditation standards; may need to meet TB/physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in general education settings to help students participate in class activities.
• Deliver academic instruction within special education and general education settings under supervision of a special education teacher.
• Assist with adapting curriculum to students' learning levels and may assist with testing or assessments; provide vocational skills through modeling.
