Job summary

ResponsiveEd in Tyler, TX seeks a Special Education Instructional Aide to assist the SPED teacher and support students with a range of disabilities. You will help implement IEPs and monitor progress, and you will work with campus staff to ensure students are engaged and included.

You will coordinate with speech therapists, social workers, and other specialists, maintain records, and help communicate with families and administrators as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or GED.
• Experience working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent.
• One of: 3 years as Educational Aide I or II.
• 30 college hours with emphasis on child growth and development or related subjects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under the guidance of the classroom teacher and campus administration.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside of the classroom to enable participation.
• Work with professionals such as speech therapists, social workers, and occupational/physical therapists.
• Assist with maintaining student records and scheduling ARD/EREE/REED meetings and ensuring timelines.
