Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a paraprofessional to support students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom. You will assist with IEP implementation, behavior management, and instructional programs under a certified teacher's direction.

The role involves supervision, material preparation, and collaboration with SPED staff to track student progress and ensure safety during activities and testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED; 48 college hours from an accredited college or university.
• Paraprofessional certificate issued by SBEC is required or eligible.
• CPR and Heimlich maneuver certification, and NCI to be obtained.
• Must be able to communicate, listen, read, write, and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during the school day in classroom, lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Assist teacher with instructional materials, behavioral interventions, and students' physical needs.
• Participate in staff development and apply learned strategies to curriculum.
• Support individual students, small groups, and whole class as assigned.
• Assist with SHARS billing and maintain equipment inventory.
