Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District seeks a paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role includes assisting with IEP implementation, behavioral strategies, and daily living skills, both inside and outside the classroom.

You will help with testing, equipment, and documentation, while maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment and communicating effectively in English with students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 48 college hours.
• Paraprofessional SBEC certificate required or eligible.
• CPR, Heimlich maneuver and NCI certifications within district training calendar.
• Able to use OT/PT apparatus and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students throughout the day in classroom, lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Assist teacher with instructional materials, behavioral interventions, and physical needs of students.
• Support individual students, small groups, and whole class per teacher instructions.
• Assist with testing measurements and technology integration in the curriculum.
• Maintain documentation of services and assist substitutes as needed.
