ACCEL Schools is seeking a Special Education Instructional Aide at Strongsville Academy in Strongsville, OH. The role supports teachers in delivering instruction and promoting positive student behavior in academics and activities.

The Aide assists with classroom management, parent relations, and school events while ensuring student safety and a positive climate. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework, or passing the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI check.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups and follows planned instructions.
• Assists with classroom activities and parent relations as directed by the Teacher or School Leader.
• Chaperones and assists with school events and committees as needed.
• Performs clerical duties such as grading papers and making copies.
• Assists the Teacher with the use of classroom technology.
• Maintains cleanliness of classroom, lunchroom and other areas.
• Understands and implements the school’s philosophy and mission.
