Qualifications

• High school plus two additional years of formal preparation.
• Zero to six months of relevant prior experience.
• Proven arithmetic and counting skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in the classroom with large and small groups.
• Carry out instructional activities per the instructional plan (IEP).
• Prepare instructional materials and reports for the teacher.
• Observe and record student progress and share with the teacher.
• Assist with behavior management and crisis situations as directed.
• Support students in special activities such as swimming, music, and speech.
• Supervise students in washroom and on/off buses.
• Assist with meals and supervise lunch interactions.
• Support outdoor recess and other building duties as assigned.
