Job summary

Lynwood Unified School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant Special Education to support certificated teachers in providing instruction and care to students with special needs. The position is full-time for six hours daily over ten months, with the District requiring CPR/First Aid certification within three months of offer and a passing score on the proficiency

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school, or equivalent.
• One year of experience working with children in an organized setting is preferred.
• ALL CANDIDATES MUST TAKE AND OBTAIN A PASSING SCORE on the Lynwood Unified School District Proficiency Assessment (Written Examination).

Responsibilities

• Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction and care to students with special needs.
• Support classroom activities and monitor student behavior inside and outside the classroom.
• Perform various clerical tasks to support classroom operations.
• Report to a designated administrator.
