Job summary

Marana Unified School District is seeking a dedicated Special Education Assistant to support students with disabilities in a 9-month, 35-hour/week role. You will work under licensed teachers to implement IEP services, provide tutoring, and assist with daily classroom activities.

Responsibilities include assisting students, maintaining records, and collaborating with parents during IEP/CST/MET meetings. CPR/First Aid and CPI certification within 6 months are required, along with basic clerical

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Able to receive CPI certification within 6 months.
• Arizona Driver’s License and Finger Print Clearance.
• Equivalent combination of training/education/experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, supportive environment for students with disabilities.
• Accompany and assist students throughout the school day per IEP.
• Provide tutoring/remediation in 1:1 or small groups under licensed teacher.
• Transcribe instructional materials into Braille if needed.
• Assist with self-care activities and basic mobility.
• Perform medical tasks under licensed medical providers' direction.
• Maintain records, perform Medicaid billings.
• Assist with clerical duties and data entry as assigned.
• Schedule and contact parents for IEP/CST/MET meetings.
• Proctor state testing and monitor objectives.
• Grade student work and record goals/grades as needed.
