Job summary

Marana Unified District seeks an instructional assistant to support students with disabilities under IEP services. The role provides a safe, supportive learning environment and helps students access education.

The incumbent will assist 1:1 or in small groups under a certified teacher, help with instructional materials, Braille transcription, basic medical tasks, and maintain records while coordinating IEP meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.
• Ability to obtain CPI certification within 6 months.
• AZ driver's license and fingerprint clearance required.
• Ability to support students with disabilities in IEP settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and supportive environment for students with special needs.
• Accompany and assist students throughout the school day as required by the IEP.
• Provide 1:1 or small group tutoring under a certified teacher.
• Transcribe instructional materials into Braille as needed.
• Assist with self-care tasks and basic medical duties as assigned.
• Maintain records and Medicaid billings.
• Perform clerical duties (typing, filing, data entry) and material preparation.
• Assist with IEP meetings and scheduling communication with families.
• Proctor state testing and track student progress.
