Job summary

University of North Texas at Dallas seeks qualified adjunct faculty to teach EC-12 Special Education courses for Fall 2026. The position involves delivering high-quality instruction, engaging students, and collaborating with university and school partners in a variety of instructional formats.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree (or higher) in a related field, have expertise in special education, and demonstrate ability to connect theory to PK–12 practice.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Special Education, Exceptional Student Education, Educational Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Knowledge of special education assessment, instruction, and IEP development practices.
• Experience teaching or supporting students with disabilities in EC–12 settings or higher education teaching in special education.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in special education per approved descriptions.
• Deliver course content using face-to-face, online, hybrid formats as needed.
• Develop and maintain course materials, syllabi, assessments, and resources.
• Provide timely feedback and maintain accurate student records and grades.
• Create a supportive learning environment that promotes student success and professional growth.
• Incorporate current educational research, standards, and PK–12 practices into instruction.
• Collaborate with faculty, school partners, and stakeholders as appropriate.
• Attend required faculty meetings and course coordination activities.
• Communicate progress and needs with the program supervisor.
