Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Special Education or closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated professional expertise in special education.
• Experience teaching or supporting students with disabilities in EC–12 settings or higher education in special ed.
• Knowledge of special education assessment, instruction, and IEP development practices.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in special education, aligned with approved descriptions and program requirements.
• Deliver content using effective, evidence-based practices across face-to-face, online, hybrid formats.
• Develop and maintain syllabi, assessments, assignments, and instructional resources.
• Provide timely feedback and maintain accurate student records and grades.
• Create a supportive learning environment promoting student engagement and professional growth.
• Incorporate current educational research, standards, and PK–12 practices into instruction.
• Support teacher candidates toward Texas educator certification requirements and best practice.
• Collaborate with faculty, supervisors, and school district partners as appropriate.
• Participate in required meetings, orientations, and course coordination activities.
• Communicate progress and needs with program coordinators and supervisors.
