Job summary

Saint Paul Public Schools is hiring a TA 2 - Special Education for the Farnsworth Aerospace Upper School in St. Paul, MN.

The role is a 10-month position with a 35-hour work week and requires training in NVCI and bus safety. Candidates should meet the ParaPro/Paraeducator requirements or have an AA/AS/AAS or higher.) Pay ranges for TA1 and TA2 are provided, and benefits include options for medical/dental/vision/pension with accrual of sick and vacation time.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and mathematics skills.
• Must be able to converse with students and staff to support IEP goals.
• Proficiency with typing, copying, and use of computers and iPads may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IEPs, 504 Plans, BIPs and sensory plans.
• Support inclusion of students with disabilities in general education classrooms.
• Record data on IEP objectives and BIPs for monitoring progress.
• Assist in teaching functional skills and daily living activities.
• Be mobile to meet various student needs and assist with bus duty as needed.
• Provide de-escalation strategies and follow NVCI procedures when necessary.
