Job summary

Orange County Public Schools seeks compassionate staff to assist students with severe disabilities under the supervision of certified staff. You will support instructional activities, behavior management and daily living skills while ensuring safety and appropriate supervision across classroom and bus/transition times.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience with exceptional needs students, plus completion of ESE Training within 45 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least two years' experience with exceptional needs students in an educational setting.
• Must complete ESE Training within 45 days of hire.
• Ability to meet dexterity and physical requirements; manage stress and safety needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, behavioral and developmental assistance to students with severe disabilities as directed by supervising teachers.
• Assist with positive behavioral supports and problem-solving instruction.
• Assist with behavior interventions and monitoring of student behaviors.
• Escort and support students during meals, restroom, and transitions throughout the day.
• Support students with gross and fine motor activities and daily living skills as appropriate.
