Job summary

Willow Ridge Elementary seeks a dedicated Special Education ParaEducator to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role is full-time and involves implementing IEPs, assisting teachers, and fostering independence and positive social growth in learners.

You will provide one-on-one and small-group support, monitor progress, and collaborate with families and specialists to ensure a constructive learning environment and successful transitions throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience with students with ASD or in a special education setting is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with teachers and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional activities tailored for students with ASD.
• Provide one-on-one support during classroom activities.
• Promote engagement and participation; monitor progress and behavior.
• Support behavior management and implement positive behavior strategies.
• Collaborate with special education staff and related service providers to support IEP goals.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials and resources.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow district policies.
• Assist with transitions and facilitate social interactions among students.
