Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs in West Virginia is seeking experienced teachers to mentor beginning teachers. Mentors should have completed the WV Center for Professional Development’s mentor training and, ideally, hold the Master Mentor Teacher Advanced Credential.

The Beginning Teacher Mentorship is a year-long program with placements made semester to semester. Mentors receive $300 per semester for each mentee, and participation requires completing the mentor course offered through the WV Department

Qualifications

• Mentor must have completed WV Center for Professional Development’s mentor training institute prior to or during the first semester of such assignment.
• Preference given to teachers holding the Master Mentor Teacher Advanced Credential.

Responsibilities

• The Beginning Teacher Mentorship is a year-long experience, completed in the semester increments.
• The mentor is assigned on a semester-to-semester basis pending the placement of the beginning teacher.
