Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking mentors for the Beginning Teacher Mentorship program in West Virginia. The position offers mentorship to beginning teachers for one year, with mentors assigned on a semester-to-semester basis based on placement and school needs.

Mentors must have completed the WV State Department of Education mentor training institute, and preference is given to those holding the Master Mentor Teacher Advanced Credential.

Qualifications

• Preference for teachers at same school, teaching the same or similar subject and grade level as the beginning teacher.
• Mentor must have completed mentor training institute prior to or during the first semester of assignment.
• Preference given to those with the Master Mentor Teacher Advanced Credential.
• Must complete mentor course offered thru WV State Department of Education before end of mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Mentor Beginning Teacher for a year-long experience.
• Mentor is assigned on a semester-to-semester basis pending placement.
• Provide guidance and support per program requirements.
