Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking qualified teachers to serve as mentors for the Beginning Teacher Mentorship program. The mentor earns $300 per semester and the program lasts one year, with assignments renewed each semester.

Preference is given to mentors who teach the same school and subject/grade as the beginning teacher. Mentors must complete the WV Center for Professional Development mentor training and any required WV DOE courses before the mentorship ends.

Qualifications

• Mentor must have completed WV Center for Professional Development mentor training.
• Preference for teachers teaching same subject and grade level at the same school.
• Must have or complete mentor course offered thru WV State Department of Education before end of mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Mentor beginning teacher for a year-long mentorship, with semester-to-semester assignment.
