Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking experienced teachers to serve as mentors for beginning teachers in our statewide mentorship program. The mentor is assigned semester-to-semester and earns $300 per mentor per semester, with placement preference given to teachers at the same school, teaching the same subject and grade level.

Candidates must complete the WV Center for Professional Development’s mentor training institute and the Master Mentor Teacher Advanced Credential when possible.

Qualifications

• Must be a current or former teacher able to mentor beginning teachers.
• Preference for mentors at the same school within the same subject and grade.
• Must have completed WV Center for Professional Development’s mentor training institute.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship to beginning teachers for a year-long program, with assignments semester-to-semester.
