Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs seeks mentors for a Beginning Teacher Mentorship program in West Virginia. Mentors will guide beginners through a year-long mentorship, with assignments renewed each semester, and preference given to those with relevant mentor credentials.

Qualifications

• Must have or complete mentor course offered thru WV State Department of Education before end of mentorship.
• Preference for teachers at the same school, teaching the same or similar subject and grade level as the beginning teacher.
• Mentor must have completed the WV Center for Professional Development’s mentor training institute prior to or during the first semester of such assignment.

Responsibilities

• The Beginning Teacher Mentorship is a year-long experience, completed in the semester increments.
• The mentor is assigned on a semester-to-semester basis pending the placement of the beginning teacher.
