Job summary

Lorena ISD High School in Lorena, Texas is seeking an Aide - Instructional (Special Education - Functional Academics) to support students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom. Under the supervision of a certified teacher, you will help implement IEPs and assist with self-help, behavior management, and instructional tasks.

The role requires patience, ability to work with diverse needs, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility for duties across lunchroom, bus, and playground.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and “Highly Qualified” training certification; or at least 60 hours of college or an associate’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Help meet the individual needs of students with disabilities inside and outside classroom.
• Assist with implementation of IEP including self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs.
• Work under supervision of principal and certified teacher.
• Assist with preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in professional development.
