Qualifications

• Certification requirements: valid TASN (NCLB) paraprofessional license or equivalent.
• Knowledge, abilities, and skill: good knowledge of disabilities, English grammar, basic mathematics.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities aged birth to 21, follow instructions, complete reports. CPR training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assists in instruction of disabled students under supervision of a teacher.
• Provides one-on-one tutoring and personal hygiene support as needed.
• Assists with daily living skills, positioning equipment, and use of assistive devices.
• Maintains behavior records and supports field trips and class activities.
