First Mid Bancshares, Inc. is seeking a Special Assets Officer I to manage a portfolio of classified assets in line with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

You will focus on minimizing losses and maximizing recoveries across loans, repossessed assets, and real estate owned. The role emphasizes fair, ethical collection practices for small to mid-size loans, with responsibilities spanning negotiations, documentation, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent of two to four years related experience and/or training.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are preferred.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, work independently, problem solve, set and achieve priorities and goals.
• Analytical skills sufficient to analyze problem loans and make recommendations.
• High level interpersonal skills to interact with customers, other departments, and bank attorneys.

Responsabilités

• Identify and minimize potential losses and maximize recoveries on assigned loan portfolios.
• Develop/negotiate/execution of workout action plans including loan restructures.
• Manage negotiations and legal actions, and review collateral and documentation.
• Prepare loss mitigation documents in compliance with guidelines.
• Coordinate foreclosure or repossession process and maintain legal records.
