First Mid Bancshares, Inc. is seeking a Special Assets Officer I to manage a portfolio of classified assets in accordance with bank policies. The role focuses on minimizing losses and maximizing recoveries on loans, repossessed assets and OREO through ethical collection and workout actions.

You will work with smaller- to mid-size loans, analyze collateral, prepare loss mitigation documentation, monitor bankruptcies, and coordinate with bank counsel on foreclosures or liquidations.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; two to four years related experience and/or training.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and prioritization abilities.
• Knowledge of loan workflows, regulations, and recovery processes.

Aufgaben

• Identify and minimize losses, maximize recoveries on assigned loan portfolios through collection activities and workout plans.
• Evaluate collateral and pursue alternatives including foreclosure and bankruptcy when needed.
• Review delinquency, maturity and tax reports; follow up with borrowers and loan officers.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reports (Delinquent Mortgage, Bankruptcy, Problem Loan).
• Maintain client contact records and assist with audits.
