Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking a skilled Engine Modeling Engineer to advance spark-ignited engine simulations using GT-POWER in Indiana. You will build, calibrate, and validate 1D engine models and fast-running variants, and align results with test/CFD data.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers, document modeling approaches, and drive automation improvements using GT-Python, MATLAB, and MS-Excel. A strong thermodynamics background is essential.

Qualifications

Spark-ignited engine modeling using GT-POWER and calibration.
Calibrating GT models to reference data (experimental/CFD) and developing fast-running GT models.
Optimization with GT-Suite.
MATLAB, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint.
Thermodynamics, gas dynamics, and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

Model combustion and air-handling processes for spark-ignited engines.
Develop, calibrate, and validate 1D GT-POWER engine models (DGM).
Correlate simulation results with engine test data or CFD data and improve accuracy.
Coordinate with stakeholders and suppliers to resolve modeling gaps.
Document modeling assumptions, calibration methods, validation results, and findings.
Communicate analysis outcomes in meetings and emails.
