Job summary

Scoot Education in Washington DC is seeking a substitute teacher to support classrooms across partner schools, supervise students, and follow daily lesson plans to maintain a productive learning environment.

You will join a team that offers scheduling support, weekly pay, and training opportunities, along with background check reimbursement and potential for longer-term placements, all under Scoot Education’s committed guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Three professional references including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State & federal background checks required.
• Teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit is a plus.
• Experience in special education settings and bilingual abilities are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow lesson plans and communicate with school staff.
• Leave notes for the returning teacher.

Daily Pay Range:

Pay will vary forday-to-day assignments and is typicallymore for long-term placements.Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

Role Requirements:

• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher
