Job summary

Scoot Education Houston is seeking a Special Education Substitute Teacher to support classroom teams across partner schools. You’ll supervise and assist students, follow lesson plans, and maintain a safe inclusive environment.

This role rewards flexibility, collaboration with teachers, and opportunities to build your resume while earning competitive daily pay. Ideal candidates hold a teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit, plus background checks; you’ll contribute

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State & federal background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow lesson plans left by the teacher and manage classroom routines.
• Communicate clearly with school staff.
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.

Daily Pay Range:

Pay will vary forday-to-day assignments and is typicallymore for long-term placements.Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits
