Job summary

San Juan College in Farmington, NM seeks a part-time Supplemental Instructor to join the Tutoring Center. You will support students by reviewing course content, teaching study skills, and referring to campus resources.

You will collaborate with faculty to tailor content reinforcement and prepare progress reports. Responsibilities include developing contextualized SI sessions, creating learning materials, coaching students, and assisting with CANVAS-based activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field.
• Spanish language fluency.
• At least 1 year experience providing student academic support.
• Familiar with utilizing a learning management system.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver SI sessions reinforcing key concepts with students.
• Design experiences and assessments evaluating learning outcomes.
• Coach students on study skills and goal setting.
• Create learning materials and study aids for students.
• Track student progress and report to faculty.
• Attend trainings to plan SI programming and hours.
• Utilize CANVAS and other software as needed.
