Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures and explains venipuncture process to patients.
• Demonstrates technique with straight and butterfly needles and ensures accuracy with each test requisition.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores samples per protocol to maintain integrity.
• Adheres to OSHA and DEP regulations and attends departmental trainings.
