Job summary

Middlebury College invites applications for a temporary Research Assistant in Spanish for the Summer Language Schools program located on the Middlebury College campus in Vermont. The 7-week session combines cultural immersion with rigorous daily classroom instruction.

The assistant will contribute to faculty projects in Second Language Acquisition, performing data analyses, transcriptions of interviews, data segmentation, and digitization of placement tests, among other tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; advanced degree a plus.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English, both oral and written.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Able to work with people of all ages and levels; initiative and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data analyses and linguistic transcriptions of recorded interviews.
• Perform data segmentation and placement test digitization.
• Contribute to ongoing projects in Second Language Acquisition themes.
• Assist with related tasks as needed for research projects.
